This past week in NFL Pro Football, there were both things that we can all cheer about and things that we jeered. Here is my take on the week that was.
Cheers: Tim Tebow, QB of the Denver Bronco's leading his team to a 5th straight win.
Jeers: Brett Favre, former QB of Minnesota, New York Jets, and Green Bay Packers stating that he would entertain offers from the Chicago Bears to finish the season this year.
Cheers: Justin Houston, rookie of the Kansas City Chiefs who has made six starts for the Chiefs this season and had not recorded a sack- Houston in the game against the Chicago Bears collected 3 sacks on Chicago QB Caleb Hanie, registered 7 tackles and forced a fumble on one of the sacks.
Jeers: Detroit Lions Linebacker Ndamukung Suh, on the first game of his two game suspension, crashes his car into a tree in downtown Portland, Oregon injuring two women.
Cheers: Ray Rice RB of the Baltimore Ravens on a wet slick field in Cleveland rushing for a career high 204 yards. While doing this, he ripped the game open with a 67 yard ramble through the Cleveland Browns defense and scored on a 6 yard TD run to lead the Baltimore Ravens to a 24-10 victory.
Jeers: Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett's clock management skills at the end of regulation play against the Arizona Cardinals. Garrett failed to call a timeout with 25 seconds left on the clock after getting a first down on the Arizona 31 yard line. By doing this, Dallas could not run another play which could have placed the ball closer for the kicker to attempt a higher percentage field goal.
Cheers: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Coach Raheem Morris on the pulling of DT Brian Price out of the game against the Carolina Panthers for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Price's penalty caused the Pathers to gain 15 yards rather than lose yardage on a Geno Hayes sack on Carolina Pather's QB Cam Newton. Morris stated Price's behavior was selfish and foolish both to his teammates as well as to the entire Buccaneer's organization.
Jeers: Washington Redskins Tight End Fred Davis and Left Tackle Trent Williams will be suspended for the rest of the season for violation of the NFL substance abuse policy.
