Cheers & Jeers- Week 14 NFL Pro Football

Week 14 of NFL Pro Football had it's ups and downs. Here is a sampling of what I call Cheers & Jeers. What everyone (almost) cheered about and what is certainly jeerable.

Cheers: The Denver Broncos- under the leadership of Coach John Fox and QB Tim Tebow- besting the Chicago Bears in overtime with a 51yard field goal by Matt Prater to take the lead of the AFC West.

Jeers: The Kansas City Chiefs, under the leadership of their GM Scott Pioli, firing coach Todd Haley after losing their 8th game

Cheers: To Ben Roethlisberger for coming back with a high ankle sprain to lead the Steelers to victory over the division rival Cleveland Browns.

Jeers: To the Cleveland Browns medical staff who allowed Colt McCoy to play with a concussion after being laid flat by James Harrison. To paraphrase McCoy, "I don't remember much, but I know I played badly by how my teammates reacted to me!"

Cheers: To Tom Brady and Coach O'Brien for keeping their spat on the sidelines and being professional about it after the game.

Jeers: To the Miami Dolphins who fired Coach Sparano after their loss to Philadelphia on Sunday.

Cheers: To Eli Manning leading the New York Giants to two touchdowns in the final 3:14 to beat the Dallas Cowboys 37 to 34 on Sunday Night for first place in the NFC East.

Jeers: To Marion Barber, who ran well against Denver, but with the Bears leading 10-7 with two minutes to go and the Broncos out of timeouts, inexplicably went out of bounds stopping the clock -which eventually gave Denver the extra time they needed to move the ball for a game tying field goal (59 yard field goal) by Matt Prater that forced overtime.

Cheers: Jacksonville school teacher Ms. Goeleski leading her kindergarteners at Neptune Beach Elementary School with a warm holiday carol of "Shahid Khan is Coming to Town". Shahid Khan is the mustachioed entrepreneur who is buying the Jaguars for $760 million.

Jeers: The Kansas City Chief's believing that Romeo Crennel can lead the team to the playoffs with a 5-8 record.
