Week 11 Fantasy Football Review

360 Sports Network looks back at week 11 in the NFL season and for the fantasy football recap in each game. This week saw a return of a former huge fantasy wide receiver, a fill-in running back that never played like it in Kevin Smith, and a host of other let-downs, big plays, waiver wire possibilities and more in the fantasy football world, including Tampa Bay offense output from Mike Williams and Legarrete Blount once again.

New York Jets (13) @ Denver Broncos (17)

Time Tebow is definitely not your daddy's quarterback. His wins are ugly, his completion ratio is disgusting and to watch him play is watch a dance in which the other person is likely a corpse. However, in the fantasy football world...WOW. He is constantly scoring points. They aren't big points, but are constant points..and consistency is the key in fantasy sports.

Most other performances were underwhelming, especially for the Jets with Plaxico Burress (4 receptions for 64 yards), Santonio Holmes (4 receptions for 39 yards) and Mark Sanchez (24 of 40 for 252 yards and no touchdowns, with one interception), along with the Denver Broncos seeing Eric Decker targeted 5 times without a reception.

On the bright side, Joe McKnight had a solid game in a backup role to LaDainian Tomlinson and a now injured Shonn Greene. With 16 carries for 59 yards, he put in a proper effort. However, this running back also led receivers with 6 receptions for 62 yards - a possible look to all owners in PPR leagues.

Jacksonville Jaguars (10) @ Cleveland Browns (14)

This game was a of two running backs that held their team in the game. Maurice Jones-Drew rushed for 21 carries for 87 yards and 1 touchdown. He also grabbed four receptions for 31 yards. On the other side of the ball, Cleveland has found a gem in Chris Ogbonnaya (21 for 115 and 1 touchdown, along with 2 catches for 19 yards).

There isn't too much more fantasy football wealth in these two teams right now, except maybe Mercedes Lewis (7 for 64 yards), Greg Little (5 receptions for 59 yards) and Colt McCoy (17 of 24 attempts, 199, a touchdown and an interception, along with 5 rushes for 27 yards).

Carolina Panthers (35) @ Detroit Lions (49)

This game...woah...much, much fantasy football points and even more to the point, touchdowns baby! 11 total touchdowns, and only 4 punts. This game was score happy, so lets look at who did what!

Kevin Smith was a big brute of a running back and fantasy option this week. 16 rushes for 140 and two touchdowns. To add insult to injury for everyone who followed every other fantasy football guru's recommendation to start Maurice Morris over Smith, (so don't point fingers at me ya bastards!), 4 receptions for 61 yards and 1 touchdown. Nate Burleson, Brandon Pettigrew, Tony Scheffler and Titus Young all had receiving touchdowns for the Detroit Lions.

For Carolina, Johnathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams got fantasy owners points in their own ways. The two-headed giant nabbed a total of 17 fantasy points, on a total of 182 yards in the game. Brandon LaFell, a fantasy option in keeper leagues, or in very deep fantasy leagues, put together a decent performance, grabbing 3 catches for 51 yards.

Cam Newton had a poor passing performance, putting together 22 completions on 38 attempts for 280, 1 touchdown and a sad 4 interceptions (a 50+ quarterback rating). On the ground, Newton made up for it, pounding out 37 yards and 2 touchdowns. Matt Stafford, in comparison, was the near-perfect pocket passer, going 28 for 36 (about 78% completion rate) for 335, 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions - a 121 quarterback rating.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (26) @ Green Bay Packers (35)

Josh Freeman (28 for 38 on 342 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 interceptions for good measure) and the offense have finally showed back up to the fantasy football world. Unfortunately it was against the number one team in the NFL, and the number one fantasy football player in quarterback Aaron Rodgers on the back of his 23 for 34, 299 yard with 3 touchdowns and 1 interception performance. Hey, fun stat, Aaron Rodgers is the first quarterback to have 10 consecutive 100 or more quarterback rating games in the NFL.

Legarette Blount was a solid play this week (who knew?) going 107 on 18 carries and 1 touchdown. Kellen Winslow finished with 132 yards and Mike Williams (welcome back!) grabbed 7 for 83 yards and 1 touchdown. Arrelious Benn, a suggestion we had made a while ago on 360 Sport Network is finally coming around, grabbing 5 for 75 yards.

For Green Bay, Jordy Nelson was a dream grabbing 6 receptions for 123 yards and 2 touchdowns. Donald Driver grabbed 7 fantasy points, along with James Starks rushing for 38 yards and grabbing 53 yards in the air.

Buffalo Bills (8) @ Miami Dolphins (35)

I hate to say it, but Matt Moore has more potential and more consistent fantasy totals of the last week to make him a more solid fantasy play than Ryan Fitzpatrick. As his slide continues, Fitzpatrick only put up 209 yards and 2 interceptions in a failing contest versus a AFC East opponent. Matt Moore, on the other hand, a 133 quarterback rating on a day that saw him throw 14 of 20 for 160 yards and 3 touchdowns with no picks.

Reggie Bush continues to score and score well, rushing on this fine afternoon for 32 yards and touchdown and grabbing 34 yards in the air. Anthony Fasano continued scoring as well, only a few yards, but still a touchdown. For Buffalo, nothing happened on the ground, and almost as little happened on the air with the top receivers grabbing 5 catches, for only 71 and 50 yards respectfully in Scott Chandler and Fred Jackson.

Oakland Raiders (27) @ Minnesota Vikings (21)

Can we say it now? Oakland will be playing for the *gulp* playoffs this year? And what does that mean to you? It means all the offensive players for Oakland might be considered starts each week.

Michael Bush continues scoring in place of Darren McFadden's absence, pulling in 30 carries for 109 and 1 TD. Not too much going on in the air for the Raiders, with Darrius Heyward-Bey (4-43), Kevin Boss (5-37) and Brandon Myers (2-23) were the top receivers for Oakland. Carson Palmer still, even the lack of yardage, put up a 107.9 quarterback rating, going 17/23 for 164 and 1 touchdown.

Christian Ponder is slowly putting up some weekly fantasy football numbers. This week, he finished with 14 points, going 19 for 33 with 200+ yards, 2 TDs and 3 interceptions...oh, and he rushed for 70+ yards! Percy Harvin was a good play, netting 13 points from 73 yards and 1 touchdown.

Dallas Cowboys (27) @ Washington Redskins (24)

This contest saw both quarterbacks grab a bunch of fantasy points, with most of the heavy lifters for fantasy football playing receiver. Tony Romo finished this week with 29 points on the good end of a 23 for 37 attempt performance..oh and 3 touchdowns with no picks! Rex Grossman, unbelievably, finished this week with 28 fantasy points, passing for almost 300 yards, 2 touchdowns and one interception...along with rushing for 10 yards and a touchdown as well. Jason Whitten (3-85), Dez Bryant (3-68), Laurent Robinson (4-34), Jabar Gaffeny (7-115) and Donte Stallworth (4-51) all grabbed touchdowns in this contest.

Cincinnati Bengals (24) @ Baltimore Ravens (31)

This was a play for first place for Baltimore, and they brought their A-game...well, most of them did. Ray Rice (20 carries for 104 and 2 touchdowns, 43 receiving yards) was, once again, a huge factor in this offense and it's ability to win. Torrey Smith was a big play, grabbing 6 receptions for 165 yards and 1 touchdown; pick him up if you can, as Flacco will NEED him as they go down to the wire for the playoffs and winning the division. Joe Flacco finished the game with 270 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 INT.

Andy Dalton and the Bengals put together a good game, but not enough to beat the purple machine in Baltimore. Andy Dalton threw for 373 yards, 1 TD and 3 interceptions. Cedric Benson carried the ball 15 times for 41 yards and 2 touchdowns. In the air, Jerome Simpson played good in A.J. Green's week out, grabbing 8 receptions for 152 yards. Andre Caldwell also grabbed 63 yards and a touchdown.

Seattle Seahawks (24) @ St. Louis Rams (7)

Da' Beast (Marshawn Lynch) was another beast in this contest, rushing 27 times for 88 yards a touchdown (a small 3.3 yards per carry, but ugly wins as still wins, right?). Mike Williams and Doug Baldwin each had 60+ yards as well. For the Rams, Brandon Lloyd had an uncharacteristic game, grabbing 3 for 67 and a touchdown.

Arizona Cardinals (7) @ San Francisco 49ers (23)

Alex Smith continues his trend of small, steady fantasy totals, going 20 for 38, 267 and 2 touchdowns with an interception (21 fantasy points). Frank Gore started (24 - 88) over a healthy Kendall Hunter (11-27). Michael Crabtree grabbed seven catches for 120 yards. Vernon Davis and Kyle Williams each grabbed a touchdown in the 49ers' win.

Tennessee Titans (17) @ Atlanta Falcons (23)

Matt Hasselbeck (13 for 25, 124 yards and one interception) left the game with an elbow injury that looks ok, and he is expected to play, meaning Jake Locker (9 for 19, 140 yards and 2 touchdowns) probably isn't a viable fantasy pickup right now. Chris Johnson is playing consistent...ly bad (1.1 yards on average per rush). Nate Washington hauled in 2 touchdowns on 115 yards (9 receptions on 9 looks).

For Atlanta, Matt Ryan threw for 300+ yards and 1 touchdown. Michael Turner rushed for 100 and 1 touchdown. Roddy White (7 for 147 yards) and Tony Gonzalez (5 for 74 yards and 1 touchdown) were the Falcons' top receivers.

San Diego Chargers (20) @ Chicago Bears (31)

Jay Cutler had a great game (18 for 31, 286 yards and 2 touchdowns with an interception - and a rushing touchdown)...and then was the fantasy football gods decided a broken thumb would be fun. Johnny Knox caught 3 for 97 yards and 1 touchdown in the winning effort. Vincent Jackson flew back into fantasy football lineups after this week, grabbing 7 for 165 and a touchdown. The San Diego running game was as prevalent as Vincent Jackson numbers throughout the earlier part of the NFL season...so none

Philadelphia Eagles (17) @ New York Giants (10)

I said it before he scored 16 fantasy football points this week, and I'll say it now...Vince Young (23 of 36 for 258 yards, 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions) is NOT a fantasy football option. LeSean McCoy rushed for 113 and no touchdowns. Desean Jackson (6-88), Riley Cooper(5-75 TD), Brent Celek(6-60 yards) and Steve Smith(1-14 TD) led the Eagles in receiver fantasy points this week.

Eli Manning had a bad 74 quarterback passer rating on a 264 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 interception effort. Victor Cruz continues to be Manning's primary target, grabbing 6 receptions for 128 and 1 touchdown.

Kansas City Chiefs (3) @ New England Patriots (34)

During the first quarter, I thought the Chiefs could pull this out...and then the second quarter started. It was another Tom Brady (15 of 27 for 234 and 2 touchdowns) - Rob Gronkowski (4 for 96 yards and 2 touchdowns) show. Benjarvus Green-Ellis carried the ball 20 times for 81 yards another 25 yards in the air (10 points).
