Week 4 Fantasy Football Picks

THE REFS ARE BACK!! Maybe that means that the fantasy production on the field will be a bit more consistent? Only time will tell…as for this week, it’s time to fill those rosters! The bye weeks have begun, so we need to be extra careful in filling our rosters. Make sure you can always have a full lineup! And now, here we go with our start ‘em / sit ‘em / sleeper picks! It’s the Vikings and Broncos show apparently!

Quarterback:

Start ‘em
Sit ‘em
Sleeper/Waiver Wire
The Value Man:
Matt Schaub (vs. TEN)
Cam Newton (at ATL)
Christian Ponder (at DET) – He threw for 200+ yards and 2 TDs last week against SF. Jake Locker threw for 378 yards and 2 TDs against the Lions last week!
The Saint:
Tom Brady (vs. NE) - He doesn't lose three in a row. Expect him to get Gronk back involved, too.
Mike Vick (vs. NYG) – We honestly need to worry if he’ll continue to start. Too many turnovers to keep him in your lineup, even against the Giants.
Carson Palmer (at DEN)
The Mad Scientist:
Matt Ryan (vs. CAR)
Tony Romo (vs. CHI) – The Dallas offense looks just terrible.
Peyton Manning (vs. OAK)
TheLostCause:
Matt Schaub (vs. TEN) – Facing the #30 ranked pass defense and coming off of a great game against Denver, Schaub is a must start.
Carson Palmer (at DEN)
Christian Ponder (at DET)

Running Back:

Start ‘em
Sit ‘em
Sleeper/Waiver Wire
The Value Man:
Marshawn Lynch (at STL)
Ryan Mathews (at DAL)
Cedric Benson (vs. NO) – NO is worst rush defense, and Benson finally is getting the touches he deserves (21 last week)
The Saint:
Frank Gore (at NYJ)
Darren McFadden (at DEN) – He’s tough to read…it’s very possible you have better choices, especially when Denver hasn’t given up a rush TD yet this year.
Mikel LeShoure (vs. MIN) -  Especially if Stafford is out...LeShoure has shown already that he is a worthy starter.
The Mad Scientist:
Trent Richardson (at BAL) – He is a must start each and every week. He’s all Cleveland has in terms of offense
DeMarco Murray (vs. CHI) – Again, I have no faith in Dallas.
Michael Bush (at DAL) –
TheLostCause:
Willis McGahee (vs. OAK)
DeAngelo Williams (at ATL)
Ben Tate (vs. TEN) – Against the Titans’ 29th ranked rush D this week, both Tate and Foster are 100+ yard projections.

Wide Receiver:

Start ‘em
Sit ‘em
Sleeper/Waiver Wire
The Value Man:
Eric Decker (vs. OAK) – and maybe even Brandon Stokley…Oakland got destroyed through the air last week, and Manning picked apart Houston for much of the game last week.
Brandon Marshall (at DAL) – On the road against the #2 ranked pass defense and he hasn’t played well this year yet.
Jerome Simpson (at DET) – Coming off of his suspension, he comes right into a great situation against a terrible, injury-devastated defense. He’ll be forgotten by defenses due to guys like Harvin, Peterson, and Rudolph.
The Saint:
Santonio Holmes (vs. NYJ) –After attending 49ers press conferences this week, it was clear from both coaches and players that they expect Holmes to play a huge part this week.
Miles Austin (vs. CHI) – Facing a tough Chicago secondary and with Romo having troubles, Austin finds his way to the bench this week.
Nate Burleson (vs. MIN) -
The Mad Scientist:
Torrey Smith (vs. CLE) – Short week, still emotional, still with something to prove.
Steve Smith (at ATL) –
Randy Moss (at NYJ) – No Revis Island this week.
TheLostCause:
Larry Fitzgerald (vs. MIA)
Nate Washington (at HOU) – He’s not facing the Lions any more.
Mike Williams (vs. DEN) – Denver has given up 8 passing TDs this year (2nd only to Washington’s 10 allowed). This is the perfect scenario for Tampa’s offense to return.

Tight End:

Start ‘em
Sit ‘em
Sleeper/Waiver Wire
The Value Man:
Kyle Rudolph (at DET) – 2 TDs last week…and TEN TEs last week had 9 catches, 140 yds, and a TD against DET. BIG START this week.
Antonio Gates (at KC)
Heath Miller (bye) – Four TDs in three weeks…that’s more than his last two seasons COMBINED! Pick him up now if you have a spot!
The Saint:
Vernon Davis (at NYJ)
Martellus Bennett (at PHI)
Greg Olsen (at ATL) – only consistent receiver in Carolina right now, and Newton likes looking at him!
The Mad Scientist:
Owen Daniels (vs. TEN)
Jacob Tamme (vs. OAK) –
Dennis Pitta (vs. CLE) – He leads the team in targets each week!
TheLostCause:
Tony Gonzalez (vs. CAR)
Martellus Bennett (at PHI) – Philly does well against TEs.
Jordan Cameron (at BAL)
