Peyton Manning to Broncos, Tim Tebow to Jets

It's official, Peyton Manning is a Denver Bronco. And, live during recording, the Jets finalize a deal to get Tim Tebow. John Fox is the perfect coach for Peyton, and John Elway was an easy choice for Peyton. Plus, staying in the AFC allows for the possibility still of a Manning Super Bowl. As for Tebow...well, a battle with Mark Sanchez will certainly follow. Was Tebow brought to Broadway just to improve locker room presence? We debate...

  1. I think the biggest factor for Manning going to the Denver Broncos was that the Broncos' offense is in flux. It had no identity, and Tebow was only giving it a trick-play kind of focus. Manning, now, will allow the front-office and Offensive co-ordinators to get serious about make this team a slower offense, passing more often then in the past, and getting away from all the rushing.

As for Tebow, I don't see his value doing anything. While the Jets are a bit upset about Sanchez's lackluster growth as a leader in New York, the team itself really is not build for a run-heavy style that Tebow commands...they have just HAD to play that way with Sanchez's craptastic play.

Fantasy Value Wise...these transactions bring up some interesting things. First, receivers in Denver go up a whole tier in rank. Simply put, they WILL get the ball more, and will have better, targetted passes to NOT DROP:) The rushing offense for Denver will take a slight hit. Manning, while a good play, is only solid top 15 quarterback material at this time. Why? Because I've only seen him through one pass, and he not been hit at all yet. If he stays healthy, who knows, but play percentages, play the numbers, top 15...yes! top 5...NO!!!

Tim Tebow will not see his fantasy value go anywhere, unless, unless...the Jets draft heavily up from offensively. This will mean they will be redoing the team for a run-first mentality, and if they draft a stud tight end (not overlooking the one they have), as a blocker, then, indeed, Tebow will be getting more nods than Sanchez. As for Jets RBs and receivers, their fantasy values go no where at all...

  2. Great stuff again, guys!

I was just as shocked as you all when Manning chose Denver, but I didn't think he'd do the San Fran or Miami thing because too much was laid out for him. Yes, he is 36-years old and his clock is ticking fast - but I think he wanted his new "project" to be fun.

Now in Denver, he knows that his defense can play. He knows that his O-Line is above average. He knows that his division is wide open. And he knows that he can make any receiver look good.

Denver was Manning's choice because it wouldn't be a cake walk, but success is realistic.

12 to 13 wins is a good call, James. I see 12. I see Demaryius Thomas catching 10 TDs. I see Moreno flourishing if Denver runs an offense similar to what Manning did in Indy.

Lastly, I see Elway drafting a QB in round 2 or 3 (Nick Foles? Kirk Cousins?) and grooming him under the best ever.
