DeLlav's Daily Blog: Eli vs Ben

Eli Manning has two Super Bowl rings and both came at the expense of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Big Ben has been to three Super Bowls and has two Super Bowl rings just like Eli. The difference though is that Eli has been SB MVP both times he was in the game and Ben doesn't have any MVP's. Ben's first Super Bowl performance wasn't that impressive even though his Steelers beat Seattle 21-10. He had a 23.9 passer rating and almost cost his team the game. He played great against Arizona in 2008 but he played awful against Green Bay in the Super Bowl last year. So how do you compare Eli Manning to Big Ben? I say Manning has the edge because of the two MVP awards but Big Ben's three Super Bowl trips are pretty good also.

Tom Coughlin said he has every intention of returning to coach the New York Giants next season.
"I certainly hope so," Coughlin said at a news conference Monday when asked about returning to coach the Giants. "My intentions are to be that way. I do have some ownership that has to give approval but I'm looking forward to it.
New York beat the New England Patriots 21-17 on Sunday night to give Coughlin his second Super Bowl win.
The coach signed a contract extension last summer to stay with the team through 2012, but the Giants struggled for much of the regular season, leading to questions about Coughlin's job security.
When asked if he'd be coaching the Giants in 10 years, the 65-year-old Coughlin jokingly said, "I'm only 45, maybe that could happen."

"No, I'm not really into that stuff to be honest with you," Coughlin said. "It's not about me ... We're about team, we're not about individuals, we're about the team, and what's in the best interest of our team, and making sure ... We feel all our power is generated by the team."Coughlin diffused questions about his legacy now that he has become the 12th head coach in NFL history with multiple Super Bowl wins.
Coughlin also said he is looking forward to Tuesday's parade up the Canyon of Heroes in Manhattan.
