We
Told You So!
Sit Joe Flacco (8.58 points) – Against a stout Texans
defense, The Saint and TheLostCause both warned you about taking Flacco,
especially on the road. His 0.2 Total QBR showed just how wonderfully he did in
a 43-13 loss. He got a garbage TD late, otherwise his score could (and should)
have been much worse.
Sit Christian Ponder (4.52 points) – Ponder just stunk
it up, precisely as The Mad Scientist said he would. His team got ahead and he
didn’t need to throw, a recurring theme throughout this season. We’d say now is
the time to drop him from your team.
Sleeper Josh Freeman (29.70 points) – Four (should have
been five) touchdowns against the Saints and their terrible pass defense,
TheLostCause and The Mad Scientist had this one on lock for you! The Bucs are
passing a lot more over the past couple of weeks, meaning Freeman should be on
your roster for good now. Play the matchups with him going forward. Also, any
QB against the Saints is worth consideration, even if the starting QB is Tim Tebow.
Sleeper Jonathan Dwyer (12.2
points) – The Value Man originally said Baron Batch as his sleeper until it
became official that Dwyer would start. He looked like Jerome Bettis out there
late in the game running down the clock. At the end of the day he had 122
rushing yards. Now, for the future…well, there really isn’t much of one when
Mendenhall and/or Redman return.
Start Chris Johnson (31.8 points) – Oh baby did The
Saint get this one right. Nearly 200 rushing yards and 2 TDs. However, going
forward, still be cautious. He broke the one for an 87 yard TD. That’s hardly
consistent, solid running. His matchup was good, too. Will it continue? We’re
not sure, but if you’re unsure then this is the perfect time to TRADE HIGH.
Start/Sleeper Denarius Moore (9.6 points) – Everybody talked up
Moore this week, and he got into the end zone, just what you need from a
potential flex play.
What
Were We Thinking?
Sit Frank Gore (18.2 points) – He had 131 rushing
yards, 51 more through the air. The Mad Scientist and TheLostCause both saw
things happening a bit differently, especially after Seattle shut down the New
England rushing game. Maybe Gore is back and as good as ever? Keep an eye on
how many touches (especially around the goal line) he loses to Kendall Hunter, LaMichael James, and Brandon
Jacobs.
Start Dez Bryant (1.4 points) – The injury apparently
was worse than anticipated, causing him some troubles getting into his routes
and being a consistent threat. Leaving briefly for a concussion test (which he
passed) also limited his on-field action. The Value Man overlooked the value of
being healthy in this case. But, going forward, if he’s healthy, he’s still a
great play in nearly every matchup, including against the Giants next week.
Sit Antonio Brown (10.9 points) – What’s sad is this
score could have been much higher. He had 96 yards in the air, 13 on the
ground, over 100 in punt returns (nearly all negated by penalties), and a
dropped TD pass by Baron Batch with nobody within 20 yards of him. That being said,
it appears like the Steelers have finally remembered how great of an athlete
Antonio Brown is. While The Saint was wrong this time, he looks differently
now. Don’t expect much different going forward than what Brown did on Sunday
Night.
