It all began when Eli Manning threw a terrible interception early in the game against the Saints. Dotson went off on Twitter about how Eli Manning is so great and "elite." Well, Dellaverson decided to fire back at Dotson's love for Tony Romo. The next couple of hours were very entertaining as they battled back and forth about being elite and about Super Bowl experiences.
Enjoy! And join the debate! Is either one elite? Why or why not?
@3SNDot: Has that ELIte quarterback thrown a good pass yet today? #nygiants
down early. But Eli is amazing don't you forget.
@3SNDeLlav: @3sndot
he is better than Romo
@3SNDot: @3snDeLlav that's comical. Will Romo get any credit for his game
winning drive today? No. Eli gets canonized when he hands it off 3x on his.
@3SNDeLlav: @3sndot
In general, who would you rather have in a game winning superbowl drive?
@3SNDot: @3snDeLlav if its "romo and cowboys" or "Eli and
giants" I'd pick giants for the line. If its "average team" and
I pick the QB, I pick Romo.
@3SNDeLlav: @3SNdot
so you don't pick the guy who has done it twice & has the experience &
hardware. and you pick the guy who has none of that #facepalm
@3SNDot: @3snDeLlav because Eli is not the one who did it. He made one good
throw in each of those Super Bowls. I see 10x as many bad throws as good
@3SNDeLlav: @3SNdot
Eli is not the one who did it? Okay, i guess Burress threw the game winning
touchdown pass to himself.
@3SNDot: @3snDeLlav YOU could've thrown that pass. ...okay maybe not... MY
NIECE could've thrown that pass!
@3SNDeLlav: @3SNdot
just in general, why would you not chose the guy who did it twice? You know he
wont be rattled cause he did it before. Romo would be
@3SNDot: @3snDeLlav so you would never want Dan Marino to be your QB in the
Super Bowl then?
@3SNDeLlav: @3SNdot
answer the question dotson. Then i will give you mine.
@3SNDot: @3snDeLlav I don't care how many times you are there. You're a pro,
you're going to be fine. #justagame
@3SNDeLlav: @3SNdot
Okay. Marino threw 2 picks in his SB that he lost 38-16. & as far as a pro
being just fine, you can tell that to neil o donnel #iwin
@3SNDot: @3snDeLlav so first time Super Bowlers like Tom Brady, Aaron
Rodgers, Peyton Manning, Trent Dilfer...they just don't count & Odonnell
does?
@3SNDeLlav: @3SNdot
You're missing the point, logic tells you to pick the guy who has the
experience doing it. Its not like im saying a QB like romo
@3SNDeLlav: @3SNdot
will never be able to do it. Im saying you have a better chance with the guy
who HAS PROVEN he can do it compared to someone who
@3SNDeLlav: @3SNdot
MIGHT be able to do it.
@3SNDot: @3snDeLlav 20 Super Bowls featured a Super Bowl rookie QB vs. one
with a prior Super Bowl under his belt. Experience is 12-8 (0-3 since '06)
@3SNDot: @3snDeLlav four of those 12 wins were a rookie vs. a MULTI-SuperBowl
winning QB, which is almost definite loss. Dead even there.
@3SNDeLlav: @3sndot
still according the numbers 4 more times the experienced qb has won and eli has
won 2 superbowls since 2006. So in your face
@3SNDot: @3snDeLlav Eli is one of those rookies who beat a seasoned veteran.
Completely trashes your argument. In YOUR face.
@3SNDeLlav: @3sndot
ya eli, the guy i happen to be DEFENDING! #Letstakethistotheblogs
@3SNDot: @3snDeLlav the last five Super Bowl LOSERS have Super Bowl WINNING
experience. It's called trend analysis. #takeittothebank
@3SNDeLlav: @3sndot
so you should go with trend rather than experience?
@3SNDot: @3snDeLlav the TREND tells you to go AGAINST experience.
@3SNDeLlav: @3sndot
its not a big enough sanple size. Especially considering Elis 2 superbowl wins
came from those last 5 years
@3SNDot: @3snDeLlav Rodgers, Eli, Brees, Brady, Aikman, Terry Bradhaw. All
win Super Bowl in first game vs. a QB with Super Bowl experience.
@3SNDeLlav: @3SNdot
Youre goin in circles. Its not like im saying its impossible, im saying logic
tells you to go with the guy who has already done it.
@3SNDot: @3snDeLlav &logic tells me to go with what's happened recently -
that not only are the rookies just as likely to win, they do so more often.
@3SNDeLlav: @3SNdot
Fill in the blank. Tony Romo is deserving of Elite Status
because______________________
@3SNDot: “@3snDeLlav: @3SNdot Fill in the blank. Tony Romo is deserving of
Elite Status because” consistent with no line &he still gets the job done.
@3SNDeLlav: @3SNdot
Eli Manning is deserving of Elite Status because he has 2 superbowl rings with
game winning drives. You tell me which fill in the
@3SNDeLlav: @3SNdot
blank sounded better?
@3SNDot: @3snDeLlav that answer is obvious. But I look BEYOND two games.
Truly, neither should be considered elite. My team, I take Romo first.
@3SNDeLlav: @3SNdot
& that my friend is all i have been wanting to hear from you. I can settle
and respect that conclusion if you want to leave the
@3SNDeLlav: @3SNdot
debate like that. It was truly one for the ages
@3SNDot: @3snDeLlav neither is elite. The word is overused. In terms of complete
package, Romo is better. He is MORE DESERVING of the title than Eli.
@3SNDeLlav: @3SNdot
im ok with saying neither is elite but Id feel more comfortable making that
opinion if Romo had a superbowl mvp and Eli didnt.
@3SNDeLlav: @3SNdot
until then, I just cant. I dont know what else to say
@3SNDot: @3snDeLlav how about we let the fans decide then? Is Eli an elite
QB? Should Romo be considered elite? What's needed for either to be elite?
@3SNDeLlav: @3SNdot
I'm down with that. I guess at this point thats all there is left to do.
